At SketchArt Engineering, 3D detail design is where a concept becomes a complete, buildable definition. We lock down interfaces and datum references, set clearance and service envelopes, choose materials and stock sizes, and fix fastener strategy and fit classes. Tolerances are validated against real shop capability, and model structure is kept PDM-ready with sensible part numbering. Vendor data is integrated early and clashes are removed before release. The result is precise, production-ready 3D CAD that assembles cleanly and works in service.

3D detail design — industrial equipment CAD

3D detail design — scope and capabilities

What we model

  • Conveyors and transfer points (belt/chain/screw) with supports and guarding

  • Hoppers, bins and chutes with liner volumes and access provisions

  • Steel frames, trestles, pipe bridges and service platforms

  • Equipment frames and skids with tie-ins to OEM machines and utilities

  • Retrofit interfaces and adapters for upgrades to existing lines

How we model (methods & checks)

  • Datum references and bolt patterns fixed early; defined clearance/service envelopes

  • Parametric, structured assemblies suitable for PDM; consistent part numbering

  • Standard profiles/components and a sensible fastener strategy (edge distances, classes)

  • Manufacturability in mind: stock sizes, bend radii, split lines for lifting/transport

  • Interference/clearance and simple motion checks on critical items

  • Vendor data integrated early (motors, gearboxes, bearings, profiles)

  • Revision control and clean dependency management; in addition, options are kept lightweight for quick decisions

Quality gates before release

  • Geometry sanity checks against constraints and as-built data

  • Clearance to moving parts and defined access for service tasks

  • Tolerance realism for shop capability; no “impossible” stacks

  • Mass properties/CoG available for lifting plans

  • Notes for temporary transport/assembly split points

  • As a result, installers get unambiguous CAD they can trust

Inputs we need
Duty and environment, space constraints and as-built data (incl. point clouds where available), preferred vendors/house standards, installation limits (lift capacity, module size) and site rules.

Outputs from detail design (CAD only)
Native CAD and exchange formats (STEP) of assemblies and parts, structured BOM exports, interface schedules (coordinates/levels), set-out datum references, review views/snapshots, and mass properties/CoG for lifting.

Collaboration
We can work in your templates/PDM and numbering, maintain a simple change log, and join quick design reviews by call. We also provide short on-site checks in Europe when needed.

Boundaries (so expectations match)
No electrical/PLC, process design or pressure-vessel code packages in this scope; we coordinate those interfaces with your responsible parties.
