We provide practical project management around mechanical design and fabrication documentation. The goal is simple: clear scope, realistic dates, and straightforward communication. We coordinate inputs, vendors and deliverables; we don’t run EPC sites or act as a general contractor. As a result, design work moves predictably from brief to handover. In addition, our PM ties directly into CAD, calculations (FEA) and manufacturing drawings.

Project management — mechanical design and documentation

Our Project management

How we manage

  • Define scope and deliverables (drawings, models, reports, BOMs).

  • Set a simple milestone plan (Gantt or checklist) and keep it updated.

  • Collect inputs (standards, site rules, vendor data) and confirm assumptions.

  • Coordinate vendors for interfaces (motors, gearboxes, belting, profiles).

  • Track changes with a light change log; agree impacts before work starts.

  • Weekly status by email/Teams; quick decisions documented. In addition, we keep a tidy drawing register and revision history.

Process & cadence

  1. Brief & inputs — scope, constraints, acceptance criteria, NDA if needed.

  2. Plan — milestones, dates, responsibilities; risks noted early.

  3. Execute — design work, reviews, vendor coordination, redlines.

  4. Control — progress tracking, RFI list, change log, quality checks.

  5. Handover — final package, as-built updates, lessons learned.

Quality & documentation

  • Peer review of key drawings and calc/FEA notes.

  • Checklist for dimensions, tolerances, weld symbols, BOM completeness.

  • Document control: file naming, revisions, and transmittals (PDF/DWG/STEP/DXF).

  • Clear interface notes for site: setting-out, access, lifting/handling.

Boundaries (so expectations match)

We do not manage full EPC/construction, site HSE, legal contracts or procurement on your behalf. We assist with RFQs and technical clarifications, but purchasing and site supervision remain with you or your contractor.

Deliverables

  • Short scope statement & acceptance criteria.

  • Milestone plan, action list and change log.

  • Drawing/model register with revisions; transmittals.

  • Handover pack: native CAD + DWG/DXF/STEP/PDF, BOMs, and (where applicable) calculation/FEA notes.

Tools & collaboration

  • CAD/PDM we already use (Inventor/SolidWorks; Vault/SharePoint) or your templates and numbering.

  • Scheduling in MS Project or a shared spreadsheet — whichever you prefer.

  • Fixed-price for defined drawing packages; time & materials for capacity support; short on-site visits in Europe.
