Overview

To enhance the safety and efficiency of three hydro power stations, SketchArt Engineering developed a set of additional service platforms. These new steel structures were designed to provide safe access for equipment installation and routine maintenance, while fitting seamlessly into the existing facilities. The challenge was to create platforms that not only meet strict safety standards but also align with the geometry and limitations of the original station design.

From the beginning, our team focused on combining practical engineering solutions with long-term durability. Space inside the stations was limited, so every platform had to be compact, easy to install, and comfortable to use for daily operations. We designed the structures with a mix of welded and bolted connections, balancing maximum stability with flexibility during assembly. This approach allowed efficient installation without disrupting ongoing power generation.

Design and Engineering

Each platform underwent a detailed engineering process, including 3D modeling, strength calculations, and finite element analysis (FEA). These checks ensured the constructions could withstand operational loads, vibrations, and environmental conditions. Special attention was given to maintenance safety – guardrails, load-bearing capacity, and working space were all considered to provide a secure environment for personnel.

By following international steel construction standards and integrating modern engineering tools, the final designs achieved both structural reliability and cost-efficient production. Manufacturing drawings and assembly documentation were prepared to support smooth fabrication and installation.
