The development of a new coal handling terminal in Riga required the design and implementation of specialized equipment to meet operational demands. As part of this project, two mobile belt conveyors and a magnetic frame station were engineered to ensure efficient material handling and processing. A unique movable frame was installed above the main conveyor belt, equipped with a powerful metal magnet to prevent metal contaminants from entering the coal fraction, ensuring product quality and safeguarding equipment.
Overview
The material handling process was designed with efficiency and precision in mind. Initially, the coal is loaded into large receiving hoppers, after which it is transferred onto the belt conveyor. The material is then directed to a shredder to achieve uniform fraction size, optimizing it for further handling. Finally, a radial belt conveyor forms neat material piles, ready for seamless loading onto ships. This tailored solution ensures smooth operations and meets the rigorous requirements of a modern coal terminal.
