Overview

At the Swedish mining plant, one of the key crushers showed significant wear on its internal wear plates after long-term operation under heavy-duty conditions. The plates had reached a level where efficiency and safety were compromised, making refurbishment unavoidable to ensure continued production reliability.

The project required complete removal of the old plates and careful preparation of the crusher’s internal structure for installation of the replacements. New wear plates were designed and manufactured from high-strength steel with improved durability to withstand abrasive rock material. Precision in design and alignment was essential, as even small deviations could reduce crusher performance or shorten component lifespan.

To achieve this, detailed dimensional checks were carried out before production. The replacement plates were then manufactured with tight tolerances, ensuring a seamless fit inside the crusher housing. Installation combined both welded and bolted attachment solutions, balancing structural rigidity with maintainability for future replacements.

The refurbishment not only restored the crusher’s operational capacity but also improved overall safety by reducing the risk of unexpected failures. With the new plates, the crusher is expected to achieve a significantly longer service life and maintain stable throughput. This project demonstrates SketchArt Engineering’s ability to extend the lifetime of critical mining equipment by combining practical refurbishment methods with precision engineering.
