Safety platforms

To improve worker safety and operational efficiency, SketchArt Engineering designed and implemented advanced safety platforms for a large steel factory in Sweden. The project addressed the client’s increasing safety requirements by introducing two specialized platforms—one intended for outdoor use and the other for indoor installation within the production facility. Both structures were carefully tailored to meet the operational environment, ensuring compliance with the strictest safety standards while maintaining ease of access for workers and maintenance teams.

The project began with a detailed 3D scan of the entire installation site. This scanning process provided highly accurate data, eliminating measurement errors and allowing seamless integration of the new platforms into the existing infrastructure. By using this digital approach, the risk of design mismatches or installation delays was minimized, resulting in a precise fit and reliable long-term performance.

Each platform was constructed in strict accordance with European safety regulations, including EN 14122 standards, which cover access to machinery and industrial workplaces. The design also incorporated railings, non-slip walking surfaces, and durable structural components to ensure the platforms could withstand the heavy-duty conditions of a steel production plant. By combining robust engineering principles with advanced digital modeling, the platforms delivered not only safety and reliability but also long-term efficiency in daily operations.
